    Corrosion Sr. Program Analyst

    Funded Position

    The Surface Maintenance Engineering Planning Program (SURFMEPP) maintains, monitors, and refines Class-wide and Individual-Ship Maintenance Plans for all non-nuclear surface ships to ensure material readiness for the projected service life, develops life-cycle strategies to address system upgrades, and fully implements the Class Maintenance Plan into each surface ship's maintenance schedule and availability planning process.

     

    Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

    • The Corrosion Analyst directly supports Corrosion Division Head in the strategic communications and interrelations between SURFMEPP and various senior Fleet Stakeholders on the ship or class specific corrosion conditions and their impact on expected service life. The Corrosion Analyst develops, schedules and coordinates the communication platforms utilized by the Corrosion PM such as face to face briefings, Situational Reports (SITREPS) and Corrosion related articles in Navy related periodicals. Additionally, the Corrosion Analyst will track recurring corrosion deliverables both internal and external to the command to ensure timely submission of Corrosion requirements.

      • Possess excellent communication skills; to include proficiency in MS Office, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
      • Detailed understanding of Navy protocol and procedures as it relates to interacting with Senior Civilian or Naval Officers.
      • Experience in developing detailed briefings, strategy papers or articles related to maintenance or modernization of US Navy ships.
      • Understanding of Navy Correspondence Manual and other governing documents related to Navy Correspondence
      • Understanding of Navy terminology and maintenance fundamentals related to the husbanding of ships throughout a maintenance cycle.

    Qualifications, Knowlege and Skill Required:

    • Knowledge of systems engineering principles, methods, and techniques.
    • Knowledge of the associated hardware, software, and equipment
    • Professional certification in one or more specific technologies may be required, depending on job assignment.
    • Good understanding of technology and computing tools (Product Data Management or PDM     tools, SAP or similar)
    • The ability to multi-task in a fast-paced work environment:
    • Experience implementing Configuration Management principles, processes and training, such as configuration control, identification, data management (library/repository), product release and delivery, and configuration audits.

    Education and Experience:

    • Five (5) years of supervisory experience
    • Active Secret Security Clearance
    • Fifteen (15) years of related professional experience in DoD/Navy acquisition process, in DoD/Navy Program management, industry or Government technical management, or industry or Government business management
    • Proficient in MS Office, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
    • Demonstrated ability to lead a team.
    • Superb customer relations/interaction skills.

    Senior Engineer/Systems Engineer (Combat Systems/Communications)

    Basic Engineering Concepts & Technologies, Inc. (BecTech) is a Woman-Owned Small Business program management and engineering services provider to the Department of Defense (DoD) Agencies. Our international team supporting the Australian Future Submarine Program is seeking a Senior Engineer or Systems Engineer with expertise in combat systems design and integration, particularly with experience integrating communications elements. The qualified applicant will support the Commonwealth of Australia’s Future Submarine Program in Adelaide, South Australia. Candidates will work as part of the Combat Systems engineering team in the development, design and integration of the communications capability within the broader combat system. This position requires living and working in Australia for two years. In addition to salary, benefits include some relocation and subsistence allowances.

     

    Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

    Plan, organize, integrate and deliver complex systems engineering services and products;

     

    Undertake complex activities and tasks relating to requirements development, system definition, design and development, integration, verification and validation and testing to achieve agreed priorities and outcomes;

     

    Apply technical and professional knowledge and experience to systems engineering processes across the system engineering lifecycle;

     

    Work closely with the Combat System Integrator, International Partner, existing Collins Class In-Service Support Contractors and any other Department of Defence stakeholders;

     

    Build and sustain relationships with key stakeholders at the strategic and operational level; and

     

    As a member of the Combat System team:

    (i) evaluate technical deliverables to ensure alignment with project objectives;

    (ii) review, analyze and report upon submarine design performance, safety, operational effectiveness and environmental issues;

    (iii) contribute to development and management of the combat system reference architecture and direction of solution architectures;

    (iv) support the development of system and subsystem functional specifications;

    (v) develop EW and Communications system performance characteristics;

    (vi) develop and manage system Size, Weight, Power and Cooling estimates;

    (vii) contribute to the analysis of Combat System designs, system selections and general arrangement layouts with consideration of Whole of Boat aspects;

    (viii) undertake combat system cost capability trade studies;

    (ix) support the development of the Seaworthiness Case at the system design levels;

    (x) support the development of the assurance and acceptance program;

    (xi) support the management and planning of combat system related Science and Technology activities; and

    (xii) be responsible for one or more complex subsystems such as acoustic and nonacoustic sensors, communications, electronic warfare, weapons, tactical or navigation, or cross-functional areas such as systems engineering, platform integration or test and evaluation.

     

    Show initiative and be able to work with minimum supervision but not in isolation from the rest of the team.

     

    Basic Qualifications:

    • US or Australian citizenship with a Secret Clearance
    • Bachelor Degree in engineering or technical major, or equivalent experience
    • Minimum of 10 years experience in the field of combat systems, EW or Communications systems;
    • Experience in the early design phases of a major system program, ideally a maritime program;
    • Experience in the specification, integration and testing of EW, Communications or naval combat systems;
    • Experience in the modelling of EW and Communications systems and performance;
    • Experience in the development and management of requirements; and
      Understanding of the implications of whole boat design decisions and platform integration aspects on combat system performance and vice versa.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Combat system, EW or communications experience in any of the following: combat systems design/engineering, communications system design/engineering development, or test and evaluation and certification.
    • Fifteen (15) years specific experience.
    • Familiarity with warship design, construction and installations.

    Senior Systems Engineer

    Funded Position

    The contractor shall support the Technical Representative Office (TechRep), located in Tucson, Arizona. The selected individual will provide technical representative services to the government at contractor facilities in support of the Standard Missile Program. This position requires frequent communication and collaboration with other government and industry partners. The candidate will be responsible for mitigating daily challenges while working with functional leadership, program leadership, and internal/external customers. The candidate will participate in determining objectives of assignments, plans, schedules and will arrange their own activities in accomplishing objectives. As part of this activity, the candidate will perform Systems and Electrical Engineering duties and utilize systems thinking approach in developing solutions to a variety of problems.

     

     

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:   

    • Supports Missile systems development, design, and production work that may include trade studies, understanding logic design, I/O design, firmware development, embedded code, model formulation, manufacturing, and development cost projections, computer architecture analysis and design, analog or digital systems engineering, safety-critical functions and product quality assurance activities.
    • Supports and makes assessments of systems modeling, simulation, and analysis.
    • Participates in the upgrading of operating systems and design of system enhancements. Supports algorithm, firmware, and software design peer reviews and functional test efforts.
    • Coordinate the execution of system engineering reviews in accordance with DOD Instruction 5000.02 and the NAVSEA Technical Review Manual. Leader in the Technical Review Team (TRT) process.
    • Provides input for documentation on new or existing systems.
    • Supports the development and execution of tests to ensure the system’s hardware and software meet documented requirements.
    • Work with designers and integration engineers to identify, analyze, and resolve operating/hardware system problems.
    • Provides system/equipment/specialized training and technical guidance as required.
    • Review system specifications, input/output processes, and working parameters for hardware/software compatibility.
    • Maintains current knowledge of relevant technology as assigned.
    • Participates in special projects as required.
    • Generates technical reports and white papers.
    • Review and assess systems engineering and test equipment documentation for Failure Review Boards Change Control Boards design reviews, and formal/informal peer reviews.
    • Review and analyze released engineering change data and coordinates changes with engineering, quality, support, manufacturing, and engineering data control activities.
    • Ensures that customer and internal configuration management requirements are implemented.
    • Maintain government record of configuration management activities.

     

    QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIRED:

    Test Equipment Engineer

    Seeking a systems test and evaluation engineer to support the Standard Missile (SM) and Aegis Ballistic Missile Defense (ABMD) Technical Representative Office (TechRep.) The applicant should have knowledge and experience with missile defense systems and an active security clearance.

     

     

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:   

    • Provide software/system test and user support for SM and ABMD project.
    • Develops and directs preparations and execution of comprehensive test plans and procedures.
    • Coordinates integrated testing activities.
    • Reviews and evaluates test equipment requirements for completeness of test program.
      Performs technical analysis of complete systems and prepares comprehensive system level evaluations.
    • Coordinates among team leads to identify, optimize, and ensure proper resources are in place to successfully support test activities.
    • Craft documents to implement procedures to accurately access test outcomes.
    • Participate in assessing tests and making sure they are accurately executed and functioning properly.

     

    QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIRED:

    • Must hold active secret or higher security clearance.
    • Knowledge of data structures, algorithms, systems software design, operating systems and architectures.
    • Experience with engineering tools such as MATLAB and DOORS database.
